Maryland Assembly on School-Based Health Care 
12th Annual Conference
 
The Maryland Assembly on School Based Health Care is seeking experts to present at our 12th Annual Conference,  Building Linkages for Healthier Students . MASBHC's Annual Conference will take place at The Meeting House in Columbia, Maryland on Thursday May 18th, 2017. We are looking for presentations that will reflect new research and innovation, as well as updates in policy implications for school based health care

CHRC Grant Opportunity 
Letters of Intent Due November 16th 

The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission released a FY 2017 Call for Proposals (RFP), which looks to support programs that will build capacity and expand access, promote health equity, and improve population health.

Letters of Intent (LOI) are due on  November 16th and full grant proposals will be due  December 19th. Grant awards are expected to be made by the CHRC in mid-February 2017.  The CHRC anticipates awarding approximately $3.6 million in new grant funding this fiscal year. 

The CHRC is hosting a public information call for potential applicants on Monday, November 7 at 10 am ( Dial in number:  1.866.247.6034 , Access code:  4102607046 ).  Following the call, the CHRC will post a "Frequently Asked Questions" document for potential applicants.  

School Culture and Climate Professional Learning Institute 
Radisson Hotel, Timonium: November 10th, 8:30am to 4pm

On November 10, 2016, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Division of Student, Family, and School Support (DOSFSS) in collaboration with the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) will host a School Culture and Climate Professional Learning Institute.

The Professional Learning Institute builds on MSDE's efforts to support increased capacity of local school systems to implement strong evidence-based practices that positively impact culture and climate at the school level. The Professional Learning Institute will provide local school systems, communities, and stakeholders' information on evidenced-based best practices to ignite and sustain positive learning environments. d. The Institute will be at the Radisson Hotel, Timonium, Maryland from 8:30 am.- 4:00 p.m.

This School Culture and Climate Professional Learning Institute will bring together essential stakeholders to learn from leading experts, understand the landscape of school discipline in Maryland, and an action plan for improved practice and implementation. Participants will hear about topics such as Maryland's definition of school culture and climate, surveys, attendance, youth mental health and multi-tiered systems of support.
