Dear MASD Families,
This year has been unlike any other. From virtual instruction to hybrid and back again, one thing has remained consistent -- we are committed to educating and supporting our students. I know we are all facing challenges we never could have imagined at this time last year. Thank you to all of our parents, students, faculty and staff members who are working together to make sure learning is happening regardless of our venue.
As a reminder, our plan is to operate in our virtual model until January. Our tentative date to return to in-person instruction is January 11. While Governor Wolf and Secretary Levine, along with the Allegheny County Health Department, are still recommending that we operate remotely when our area is in the "substantial" range for COVID-19 community spread, they have also emphasized the importance of in-person instruction.
We will continue to follow their guidance while also exploring opportunities to return to our Hybrid Model as soon as possible. I will continue to keep you all updated.
Thank you for your continued patience and support. Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Barry J. Balaski
Superintendent
