The last few weeks of our school year were filled with amazing student events and accomplishments, many of which are highlighted below. I was especially excited to be able to celebrate the Moon Area Class of 2021 in person at their graduation ceremony earlier this month. Congratulations and best wishes to the Moon Area School District Class of 2021! We are so proud of you!
Summer is officially in full swing, which means we are busy planning for the upcoming school year at Moon Area School District. I know many of you have questions regarding exactly what the 2021-20222 school year will look like. One thing I can tell you is that it is our goal to return to in person instruction full time (five days a week). As of now, there are not any mandates or requirements that would prohibit us from doing that. Therefore, unless something beyond our control changes, we will welcome our students back to school in person five days a week!
While many families are eager for their children to return to the classroom five days a week, we recognize that some families may not yet be ready for their children to return for a variety of reasons. In this case, the Moon Cyber Education Program is an option for those students. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please call 412-264-9440 ext. 2000.
We will not offer our Virtual Model for the 2021-2022 school year. Likewise, we will not have a virtual day for all students each week. All students will either attend school in person full time or participate in our Cyber Education Program.
You do not need to do anything to register your child for in person instruction next year. All students will default to attending school in person five days a week. If you would like your child to attend our Cyber Education Program, then you must register him or her.
Stay tuned! We will share more details about the upcoming year in August.
Have a wonderful summer!
