| A Movement of Prayer for the Entertainment Industry | | |
Dear HPN,
We pray that you all had a glorious Easter and you are enjoying Spring. We also pray that you are all focused on Jesus, praying for the people, the projects and the issues in Hollywood and the global entertainment industry, and loving your neighbor (even the annoying ones) as yourself! We believe that our HPN community alone can change the world for good. Let’s try for that!
This week we want to focus on two of our biggest events of our 25th Anniversary year - both on the National Day of Prayer - Thursday, May 7th, 2026.
First, we are hosting a unique HOLLYWOOD PASTORS PRAYER BREAKFAST where we are gathering pastors, entertainment ministry leaders, and industry professionals with a heart for our city, and the industry it represents. We want to celebrate our local Pastors, and encourage them in their vision to support the creatives within their communities. The churches can strengthen professional artists, and we believe that will bring revival both to the industry and the world!
Then, that evening we start with a celebratory BLOCK PARTY at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood- with complimentary tacos, churros, games, music, and so much more (please RSVP so we can plan for food!). Then, we'll be celebrating HPN and 25 years of God's faithfulness and new beginnings at our night of WORSHIP AND CREATIVE PRAYER. We’ll have personal prayer, prayer stations, corporate prayer and glorious worship. It’s all free to our community so we hope that every HPN member and friend will join us to celebrate 25 years of prayer for Hollywood!

MAX MCLEAN & THE AUDIO BIBLE
HPN Member and friend Max McLean is having a global impact through his audio version of the Bible at Bible Gateway. We want to celebrate his body of work as an actor and voice-over artist and thank him for his life of excellence and integrity. Max is a veteran actor, best known for his role as C.S. Lewis in his one man play that has travelled around the country through his ministry that he founded and is Artistic Director: The Fellowship For The Performing Arts. Let’s thank the Lord for Max and his contribution to the world through the Arts!

INDUSTRY PROS STAND AGAINST PARAMOUNT/WARNER MERGER
The battle continues with the ongoing Paramount purchase of Warner Bros. and it’s subsidiaries, and Hollywood is speaking out. Over 1,000 industry professionals are trying to stop the merger, knowing that it will decrease production, end jobs and minimize the industry. The battle is in trying to prove whether it’s a monopoly or a clean business deal. So, let’s keep praying for the leaders to be honest people of integrity, and that they are thinking about what’s best for the industry as a whole and the professionals they are employing. We need the wisdom of God to break through here.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART IS OPENING THE DAVID GEFFEN GALLERIES
We want to celebrate LACMA's new museum galleries opening April 19th, featuring the David Geffen Collection for our city. Would you celebrate with us the opening of these new LACMA Art Galleries on Wilshire Blvd.? PRAISE GOD for LA's collection of Art to touch our culture with goodness, truth and beauty.

PRAY FOR GOLDIE HAWN
Goldie Hawn is 79 years old and has been facing some health issues. She and her husband, Kurt Russell, have mentioned that she recently had surgery. We want to pray that the iconic Goldie Hawn will find God's peace, joy and strength from Jesus in this season of her life and that He encounters her in a beautiful, powerful way. And please also pray for your favorite person in Hollywood to experience the same spiritual encounter. Our prayers for people who don’t yet know the unconditional love of Jesus are powerful and effective. We want the people we look up to and care about to be flooded with the peace, joy, and love of our God through Jesus!

THE AUDACITY CREATOR, JONATHAN GLATZER DEALS WITH AI IN HIS NEW SERIES
The Audacity is a new AMC series that just dropped on April 12th, about the world of AI in Silicon Valley. As creator Jonathan Glatzer focuses on the world of AI, let’s pray for him to deal with it honestly and with insight and encouragement. His goal is to find the humanity in it, so pray he finds it and presents it well to his audience. We need to keep lifting up the people tackling the still unknown world of AI so we want to pray for Jonathan on his journey.

DISNEY PLANS TO LAY OFF 1,000 EMPLOYEES
On Tuesday, The Walt Disney Company started laying off employees and they are expecting to cut over 1,000 in the coming months. Let's pray for these employees and their families as they navigate the waters of unemployment and next steps for their lives. This is the first big move of Disney's new CEO Josh D'Amaro and the Burbank Marketing headquarters is supposed to lose the most people. Please pray for Josh as he makes major decisions that impact not only the bottom line for Disney, but thousands of people across the country.

PEOPLE ARE GOING BACK TO THE THEATRE
After an all-time low in movie theatre attendance, we’ve learned that movie theatre business has risen 25% in the first quarter of 2026. AMC Theatres were quite concerned about the drop in theatre attendance since the pandemic, but they are hopeful that with some new blockbusters drawing in crowds, like Project Hail Mary and others, that people are starting to return to the theatre. Let’s pray that our country can continue the wonderful communal practice of “going to the movies!” It’s important to gather together in community to experience art and we want to see movies flourishing on the big screen across America.

ATLANTA FILM PRODUCTION HAS DROPPED
We want to pray for the industry professionals in Atlanta Georgia who are out of work. In 2020 Atlanta’s film production was booming. Trilith Studios was being completed, Tyler Perry had expanded his production complex and sound stages were being built all over and around the city. 2022 was the peak of production, with Marvel Studios shooting their movies at Trilith, and other productions were filling up stages and shooting on location. By 2025 production had cut in half. Today, Trilith Studios is scrambling to fill their production facilities and people who used to crew films and TV shows all year long are moving away or changing careers. So, please let’s pray for the professionals in Georgia and for the people running the studios. We ask that the Lord will supply their daily bread and bring more work into their state. And pray for the leaders of Trilith Studios, who are all committed Christians. We ask that the Lord bless the work of their hands and brings in more production than they even imagine is possible!
