NAMI NJ Hearts & Minds is a program to help us get and stay well! This webinar is titled  We're All Connected . Presented by program coordinator Elena Kravitz, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, the session will touch on:

  • Importance of social wellness on overall health and wellness
  • Playing out valued roles in our families and communities
  • Sharing as a strength in human connection
  • “Silver linings” – Increased connection during social distancing
  • Pushing past fear and rejection to build valued social and intimate relationships

NAMI NJ is offering a presentation of its popular NAMI In Our Own Voice program to raise mental health awareness and reduce stigma. Learn from trained NAMI volunteers about their lived experience of mental health recovery; What Happened, What Helps, and What’s Next.

This is a presentation that NAMI NJ gives over 200 times a year to a wide variety of audiences, including high school and college classes, professional trainings, family education courses, and congregations.
NAMI NJ WEBINAR: Emotional Wellness During COVID-19

Friday May 8th, 12 - 1 p.m.

COVID-19 has altered our world. For the time being we are living in uncertain times and now more than ever, it is important to take care of our mental health. Cara Maksimow, LCSW is a clinical therapist and specializes in treatment of anxiety, trauma and stress. This workshop is focused on emotional wellness tips to help participants stay positive, connected and productive. She will discuss therapeutic tools from mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, neuroscience and positive psychology to help maintain emotional health in such a challenging time.

The following two groups are being offered online, using the Zoom platform:

Thursdays at 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm (new!)

Groups will continue to meet through the full month of May.
NAMI Family Support Group  is a 60 minute support group for adult friends and family members (18+) of people with mental health conditions. Participants gain support from peers who understand their experience and gain insight into others’ challenges and successes.
