A Note from the President

We must bid a fond farewell to Dr. BK Sharma, a generous board member that has been with the University of Illinois for many years. He is a Senior Research Engineer in the Applied Research on Industrial Environmental Systems Program (ARIES) Group of the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center. As such, he has been involved in Fuel Processing Technology and various waste treatment technologies. We have valued his expertise and wish him well in his new position with the USDA in Philadelphia.

This leaves a seat on the Board open and subject to election in August. If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, we are recruiting, as at least one other member has chosen not to run again to enjoy their retirement at little more fully. As always, we welcome all members to become involved with our committees and share your successes with us as we may share them in this newsletter or in our social media outreach!

Thank you for your membership and involvement. We look forward to an in-person tour and networking event over the summer!

The State Superintendent will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) when funding for the program is available. The RFP will include information on available funding and application procedures. Applications will be evaluated on a point system based on need, plan quality, and sustainability.

How involving financial institutions can help fast-track the development of a recycling and circular economy marketplace and, in turn, unlock opportunities for new investment.
