Cut it in Half | Peg + Cat

Use this Peg + Cat video to teach children about operating with numbers, fractions, counting, and fair sharing. Peg and Cat sing and cut pizzas in half at the pizza place. They discover that they can cut lots of other things in half, too!

Grades K-2

Springtime is a time of learning about life and watching new growth. This lesson from PBS Learning Media deepens students' understanding of the similarities and differences in the life cycles of organisms. The lesson begins with a reading of Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Next, students use a video to study the developmental stages of frogs, dragonflies, and butterflies. They compare insect and frog life cycles.

Reclaiming the Power:

Or the addition of fractions and converting mixed numbers to improper fractions!

This lesson plan from

PBS Learning Media uses a video segment from Cyberchase, Hacker has consumed most of the power-supplying Cosmic Crumpets. Only pieces of crumpets are left. The CyberSquad must help Shari Spotter to restore the Frogsnorts wizards’ power by putting the remaining pieces of crumpets together, which involves the addition of fractions and converting mixed numbers to improper fractions. Then they must share the pieces equally among the seven wizards.

IDAHO JOBS EXPLAINED - the Healthcare Industry

Idaho Jobs Explained is a web series designed to help teens and young adults explore in-demand careers across Idaho. In this episode Matthew goes behind the scenes at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho to meet the people who help keep healthcare running every day.

This episode is about the team behind the team. The people whose work protects patients, supports caregivers, solves problems before most of us ever notice them, and keeps the whole system moving. It’s a reminder that healthcare careers are not limited to one kind of person, one kind of skill, or one path into the industry. If you want work that matters, there may be a place for you in healthcare.

Certified Surgical Technologist

Facilities Management

Respiratory Therapy

Biomedical Equipment Technician

Chief Information Officer

Emerging Technologies Program Manager
