There are places which are timeless. That span eras and connect people from past to present. The Blue Mounds Opera House is just such a place.
On May 1st, 2026, 7 pm, SWWAP will sponsor yet another great theater event on the Opera House Stage, "Joe Hill, Alive As You and Me". The topic of this one-man musical event is Labor organizer, activist and musician, Joe Hill. The musical is performed by Tom Kastle, musician, actor and story teller. Through song, imagery and narrative, Tom will tell Joe Hill's story and the story of the struggles of labor at home and abroad. We invite you to this free performance to experience musical theater in a grand old venue, honoring democracy in the workplace . The structure also is home to Obert Alvin Coffee House, and there will be refreshments for sale at the event.

| Mass noncooperation takes coordination, training, and sustained effort. It takes all of us, talking to our neighbors, building relationships, and getting organized. And then, at a certain point, it becomes real and substantial enough to make mass change. Noncooperation is simple in principle: we withhold our labor, our money, and our participation. | | | | Mt. Norwegian Civil Resistance of Nazi Occupation: 1940-1945 | The Norwegian nonviolent resistance certainly did not win the war against Nazi Germany, but it did leave a lasting legacy that still prevails in Norway today. Instead of crumbling under the pressure of Nazi demands, the Norwegians displayed resistance in all aspects of their lives to fight together against the Nazification of their beloved Country. This fighting attitude is still evident in the Norwegian people today. They firmly believe in democracy, individualism, and freedom of speech. As a nation who knows what life looks like when these things are taken from them, they know that they must uphold those ideals even now. | | | | SWWAP DOES NOT ASK FOR SUBSCRIPTION OR MEMBERSHIP FEES, THERE IS NO PAY WALL.
