MAY NEWSLETTER

Hello Friends...

We all know the old saying "April showers bring May flowers", but for those in the animal rescue world, it means puppy and kitten season! And boy, did we have some cute ones onboard. I've included some adorable photos in our featured flight this month, but make sure you have a comfy seat close by, you're going to want to sit down - the sweetness is too much!

In our latest blog article, we cover the history of animal rescue in anticipation of rescues and shelters celebrating 200 YEARS since the founding of the first animal welfare organization. How amazing is that!? There have been some incredible achievements, which you'll read about, and we're so excited to see what we can accomplish in the future.

If you'd like to make a celebratory donation, we would be so grateful for your support! I'll just leave this link right here.

And if you'd like to know more about our work and how you can join the team, please let me know! I'd love to hear from you.

Have a fun, safe and relaxing long weekend everyone! ~ HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

FEATURED FLIGHT

Earlier this month, we helped our amazing partners at Bissell Pets greet these incredibly sweet faces in the early hours of a beautiful day in Baton Rouge.

55 precious passengers were brought onboard for a flight destined for Bradley, CT. They didn’t know it yet, but they were about to land in the hands and hearts of some extraordinary people who are going ensure they’re safe and loved until they meet their new families and best friends.

Best of luck to these little ones!

THIS MONTH'S BLOG

Earlier this week, we celebrated National Dog Rescue Day. Not only is animal rescue the focus of our organization, but it’s also special to each member of our team because we all share our hearts and homes with a pet who came to us through rescue. They are daily reminders of how important our work is and just how profoundly it can change an animal’s life…and a human’s.

This made think about the many organizations like ours, those who are peers and the many, many who came before us. What is the history of animal rescue? Well, I’m going to tell you…

On June 16, 1824, a small group of people met in a London coffee shop, determined to change animals’ lives. Among them, Richard Martin, who helped pass the first law protecting animals, known as the Cruel Treatment of Cattle Act of 1822. That day, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) was formed and sparked a vital social shift in how people thought about animals.

As a first step toward finding Josh, Nadav contacted his neighbors to see if one of them had seen the pooch roaming the neighborhood recently. While none of the neighbors had seen the dog, one did have a tip for Nadav - try Petco Love Lost.

Petco Love Lost is a lost and found pet database that uses image recognition technology.
