When you are unsure or confused, keep it simple, and lead with your heart...

It always amazes me when I have those glimpses of the world through the lens of my heart - when my over-zealous, somewhat bossy, thinking mind is quietly resting.  Situations don't seem as dire, and what would normally keep me up at night in a moment of stress, is released easily and quickly with a few deep breaths.  Basically, we allow our brain to lead so much of our lives, and with over-analysis, everything we ponder becomes a really big deal.  These created stressful situations have a way of making life seem overwhelming and confusing, when really, a happy life can be simple.
A yoga and meditation practice is a helpful tool to develop awareness so that you can notice these opportunities for change. Through practice, I have been able to notice when my brain is taking charge, leading the way through tunnels and over bridges down a rocky path of unnecessary over-thinking and anxiety.  In those moments, I stop and observe (without judgement or labeling) and release those stressful thoughts not serving me...from there, I can let my heart lead the way.

What does it mean to lead with your heart?  It means to allow life be simple, focused on gratitude, love and all the many miracles we experience daily.  It means tapping into the truth of who you are, and what you actually need to be happy.  To access this vital information from our heart, we need our minds (and our cell phones!) to be silenced.  The heart whispers, so we must listen closely.  Find your way to the present moment, take deep, full cleansing breaths, move your body through stress-releasing asana (poses), and then tune into what your heart is telling you.  From there, the path to love and happiness may be easier than you thought.

  • KIDS Yoga will continue through SPRING!!! Download PDF here!
    This class, taught by Mecquel, is on Thursdays (4:30-5:30 pm) for children ages 5-12.  No preregistration required! Classes are $10 drop-in, or you can SAVE by buying a 4-class pack for $32.
  • Saturday Community Yoga is now for ALL Community Members working ANY 12-Step Program. Join Gwen on Saturday mornings at 8:00 - 9:00 AM for this 12-Step focused all-level yoga class, where Hatha yoga poses and breath-work are meant to support your work in any 12-Step program.  This is a fun and supportive environment to add the tools of yoga and meditation to your practice. Please spread the word  , and help this community grow. $5 Donation.

Hatha Yoga is the balance between the sun and the moon or pairs of opposites. Hatha Kids is designed to bring balance to children like a tree balanced and rooted on the earth. Yoga for kids assist children as they reach to their natural abilities and become more aware of the strength and flexibility in their minds and bodies.

Crystal Bowl Sound & Light Healing Meditation

Description:  Crystal bowl sound is a form of vibrational medicine that validates everything in the universe is in a state of vibration. When we include forms of visual light to the mix, the body, mind and spirit begin to naturally realign. Feelings of being rested and peace occur. Join us for this wonderful gathering as we merge into the light, sound and ascension of higher vibrations and consciousness.  Please bring a mat to lie on, water and an eye pillow if desired. Wear loose comfortable clothing. Bring a notebook or journal to record any thoughts or feelings that may arise.  Cost:  $20
