Less Than One Month Until Graduation! Dear Seniors...
|
|
Dear Seniors,
We made it. As the end of our years here dwindle down, I’ve been reflecting on the past three years –from the required weekend trip to the aircraft museum, to pool parties, to SLAMT, to Special Projects Week. Unfortunately, soon after that week we would find out we would be going home for much longer than we anticipated. Most of our junior year, our class was separated by screens. However, through it all, we made it to this point. This will be the first year we will all get to finish together on campus. The next couple weeks will be some of the most memorable yet. Our year full of lasts is coming to a close. Soon, we will have our last high school finals week, last senior night, and our senior trip.
I am so proud of my class and what they all have accomplished. We have had several memorable senior nights, peers have gotten into amazing schools, and have continued to raise the bar higher and higher. I am so excited to continue making these memories with my class and see how far they go in life. I hope they look back on this year with positivity in not-so-perfect situations. I am so thankful and lucky to be their senior class president. Thank you, Class of 2022 and ASMS, for making the last three years some of the best.
With love and gratitude,
Ava Frost, ASMS Senior Class President

A Taste of Home & Germany
|
Advanced German students have been converting their favorite family recipes to metrics and creating original recipes for them in German. This is a little trickier than it sounds! Students (and the teacher) shared the dishes in class, and we enjoyed a lesson on table manners and differences in eating habits at the same time.

Ms. Webb was invited to present a workshop at the Girls in Math Day @ South (GiMS) on April 9th for middle school girls. Ms. Webb created a workshop to discuss tessellations and the requirements of regular polygons to create a tiling of the plane. After the discussion, she and several ASMS students - Rachel Jordan, May Molina-Mejia, Grace Morin- facilitated the GiMS participants in creating their own tessellations. Pictured is Ms. Webb and May Molina-Mejia before a presentation, some tessellations created for the presentation, and Ms. Webb during a presentation of her workshop.
