Safety Climate
Safety Management Information System
(SC-SMIS)

An important part of a safety professional’s role is to figure out ways to continuously improve their company’s safety management program. Understanding the program’s status and having access to effective practices, policies, and procedures to improve it are keys to success. CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training (www.cpwr.com) is developing the Safety Climate-Safety Management Information System (SC-SMIS) to help safety professionals do this better by giving them the opportunity to:

  • Measure the company’s safety climate across eight leading safety climate indicators using reliable and valid Safety Climate Assessment Tools.
  • Find and Download evidence-based safety management policies, procedures, guidelines, and templates (Word documents available in English and Spanish) to strengthen low-scoring indicators.
  • Develop a Plan to start putting the selected resources into action.
The SC-SMIS will be available Fall 2021 & there will be NO COST to use it

  • An engraved plaque recognizing participation in an important construction-related study plus acknowledgement and recognition on CPWR’s website.
  • Text to use/modify in newsletters, press releases, etc.
  • A gift card
  • The opportunity to help the industry by providing feedback about your SC-SMIS experience.
