President’s Message

The Coronavirus Pandemic has hit the world, as we all know, with a gut punch. I pray we get through this period of time with as much health as possible. I wanted to take a few minutes of your time and share some thoughts and helpful information with you. Firstly, in times like these, we need friends and family to support each other so we can best deal with the virus and it’s unintended consequences on our lives, the economy and our business, which is affecting so many with job losses and other challenges. The MBA of Florida recognizes the challenges our members and all in the real estate industry are just starting to deal with as the virus takes control. Please know the MBA of Florida is here for you and will continue fighting for your interests and providing communication, education, lobbying and whatever it takes to assist our members. We will get through this by being smart and stay distanced for now, and with God’s grace the world will soon be back to health.

We are trying to keep up with the official information coming out pertaining to the industry from the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, MBA National and etc. We created a page on our web site to house this information. As we receive important news it will be placed there.

One huge COVID-19 related decision the MBA of Florida Board has recently made is postponing our Eastern Secondary Conference and Annual Convention from June 17-19 to September 3-4. Same great location at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando and hopefully the same great group of speakers and sessions! We need your support now more than ever with sponsorship and attendance to keep our state MBA successful. September should be a good safe time to get together with some colleagues and old friends. I hope you will consider joining us at the Eastern Secondary Conference or our Annual Convention and I certainly look forward to seeing you there!

We are all in this together and I am confident we will put this crisis behind us sooner than later and the economy will quickly recover.

Be safe and stay healthy!

Michael Azzarello, CMB
President, MBA of Florida
