Dear MBC Family,

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.”   Luke 1:38

Imagine the day the angel appeared to the virgin Mary announcing she would give birth to the Savior of the world. We can only imagine the confusion and fear she must have experienced in that moment. Yet I’m sure she had a great sense of excitement for what the future would hold. Although Mary’s heart experienced mixed emotions, her faith in the Lord compelled her to say “yes, may it be to me as you have said”.  Is that our hearts desire? Is it the longing of our hearts to be a part of what God is doing in our world today?

This Christmas, I believe God is wanting to reveal himself to us in a fresh new way, and not only us but to the world around us. God used an angel to change the direction of Mary’s life. We believe that God is using the current COVID crisis to change the direction of His church and propel us into an enhanced online presence and, at the same time, personal disciple-making.  Already, each week we have more than 200 views of Sunday gatherings online.

God is inviting us to join Him in bringing hope to a COVID-weary, sin-sick world as we commit ourselves to His work and mission, as Mary did so many years ago.

We are once again asking our church family to help us strengthen our online ministry by helping us update our sound and media equipment. Our special Thanksgiving Offering of $3,255 enabled us to purchase the first phase of upgrades with the purchase of broadcast software and some lighting equipment needed to enhance our online ministry. We are now ready to begin the second phase of purchasing and installing new overhead lighting and two digital remote-controlled cameras.

Would you prayerfully consider making a financial donation this Christmas? Your gift, no matter how small or large it may be, will greatly help us meet our goal of $10, 000.  Your donation can be given any time before the end of December. Please designate your donation as “My Christmas Offering” online or by envelope.  Thank you for your generous and sacrificial gift.

Mary’s life was instantly changed on that day the Angel of the Lord visited her.  No doubt she feared for her future.  Yet she remained firmly and joyfully committed to bringing glory to her God wherever she found herself.  Glory to God in the highest and may you enjoy a peace this season that only Jesus himself can give.

Merry Christmas,

Pastor Jason
