CLINICAL TRIALS

NEW Featured Clinical Trials

*MBCBrainMets.org is currently featuring clinical trials led by our

Medical Advisory Board. Not every clinical trial is a good match for every patient, but there are many ongoing and new clinical trials for patients living with MBC Brain Mets and Leptomeningeal Disease. We hope you find it a helpful way to learn about one of the trials currently recruiting patients.

Screening MRI of the Brain in Patients with Metastatic or Inflammatory Breast Cancer: A Prospective Study.

Watch Dr. Ayal Aizer, Radiation Oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, discuss a study on using screening MRIs to detect brain metastases in patients with metastatic or inflammatory breast cancer. The study aims to determine if screening MRIs can identify brain metastases early, potentially preventing neurologic symptoms and supporting less aggressive brain-directed treatment.

Hannah

"I've always loved being a student, starting in a neuroscience lab and earning a master’s in library science. But six years after school, I became a different kind of student when I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in 2016. With two young children, I had to learn quickly as a patient.

After treatment, I hoped to move on, but in 2018, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) and later leptomeningeal disease (LMD)."

Ligeline

"My name is Ligeline. I’m a mother of two beautiful teens, one boy and one girl. I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my kids. We have the best time together, like three peas in the pod.

In March 2022, I was given the news that my diagnosis was Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I did not have a family history or a genetic mutation. The diagnosis had me numb to my soul, but my faith has helped me through my diagnosis."
