Message from the President
A very Happy New Year to you and yours! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season filled with family, friends, and good cheer.
As we reflect on the past year and kick off another action-packed year in 2024, I want to take a moment to share how thankful we are that you are part of our MBGH family.
Here are some highlights to share with you, along with an overview of new projects, programs and campaigns to come in 2024.

Employer-Only Roundtables
Monthly virtual roundtables were a big success in 2023! We discussed CAA compliance, activism, health care inflation, waste and abuse, accessing data, data breaches, PBM accountability, obesity, mental health, addictions and women's health. Roundtable recordings and summaries are archived on our website.

Educational Programs & Webinars
MBGH conducted 12 programs in 2023 and we already have seven scheduled in 2024 -- with more to come! Program recordings and summaries are archived on our Past Educational Programs webpage.

Employer Action Briefs
In 2023, MBGH launched three new action briefs focused on vaccine confidence, biomarker testing, and biosimilar drugs. Click titles below to view.

Oncology Learning Collaborative
In collaboration with the Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value, MBGH conducted three employer-only webinars in the fall of 2023. (Employer members may contact Allison Larsen for a link to the recordings and summaries.) The final webinar in December was open to all health care and health benefits stakeholders. Key topics covered were:
- Prevention, screening/testing, early identification & site of care
- Navigation, psychosocial support, survivorship & return to work
- Diagnosis, second opinion, precision medicine, biomarkers & treatment

Community Initiatives Webpage
For 44 years, MBGH has been a leader in providing innovative health benefit tools and solutions to support employer benefit strategies aimed at controlling costs and improving health. MBGH is also committed to supporting community health initiatives by bringing together members of the business, hospital, physician, health plan, government, consumer and voluntary association sectors to support improved health and quality of care for all populations.

Also new in 2024 -- MBGH partner members are invited to submit materials to a resource collection webpage on the MBGH website. The collection is categorized by subject matter (diabetes, mental health, obesity, etc.), providing valuable content for MBGH members. Check it out!

Upcoming - 2024 Key Highlights

Annual Health Benefits Direction Survey
A summary of the 2023 employer survey findings, including key benefit trends and priorities, will be shared during the January 17, 2024 annual employer-only well-being forum with final results made available to all members and survey respondents in the next few weeks.

Employer Action Briefs
In 2024, MBGH will launch new action briefs on employer impacts to alternative funding programs, emerging mental health treatments, 340B and more!
|
|
|
Hospital Fair Pricing Initiative
This campaign will educate and encourage employers to take action on high hospital prices by focusing on price transparency efforts. Activities will include educational programs, employer roundtables, helpful data tools, and resources. MBGH will also directly engage with federal and state policymakers and health care stakeholders using a results-oriented policy agenda. This is a crucial and timely project!

2024 MBGH Employer-Only Member Roundtable Series

In 2024, MBGH will continue to host monthly virtual roundtables for employer members the 2nd Thursday of each month from 12 PM to 1:15 PM (CT). Co-facilitated by nationally known expert Alex Jung, each roundtable will feature content experts discussing the latest news and issues – and we always include next steps for employers so you’ll know how to take action based on the information you learn. Register once for the whole series -- Attend one or attend them all. Get your questions answered!
