L’Shana Tovah to you and your family!
L’Shana Tova to you and your family!

On behalf of the Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC on the Simkins Family Campus, we hope that you and your family have remained safe and healthy during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.  Here at our agency, we are tremendously proud of how we have continued to serve our community in so many new and unique ways ... some “in person at the Center” with strict safety protocols, and many other methods” virtually.”  The bottom line is that we continue to make a very positive impact within our Miami Beach community.  With that said, we hope that in honor of the Jewish New Year that you would consider making a tax-exempt donation to assist our MBJCC’s Agency Sustainability Fund by clicking here.

Even during these most challenging times, our MBJCC continues to be the home away from home and a high priority for so many families and individuals. Our just-concluded Summer Camp Klurman positively influenced 530 individual campers throughout the full 10 weeks.  Following health & safety guidelines, we operated at approximately 75% capacity.  Needless to say, the families that participated were tremendously grateful, as were the families that received necessities this year from our three separate kosher food drives,  services from our “School Days @ the J” program, donations in the CoVid-19 anti-body blood drives, and vaccines through our organized senior adult outreach. Additionally, our Center’s Arts & Culture program “pivoted” remarkably to offer so many new and innovative online & virtual activities – while our Fitness & Wellness, Sports Leagues & Aquatics activities also moved forward within strong CoVid-19 safety protocols & procedures.
We appreciate you as a valued member of our community in this tremendous undertaking.  As you can imagine - with all of the above-mentioned modifications, our Miami Beach JCC has seen a 25% decrease in overall operational dollars.  And, while the Greater Miami Jewish Federation has played an incredibly vital role in granting us Emergency Relief Dollars, your additional donation to our JCC is needed now more than ever!

We thank you – as always - for your ongoing support of our Miami Beach JCC.

Chag Sameach & Stay Safe,

Jew-ish: A Cookbook: Reinvented Recipes from a Modern Mensch
When you think of Jewish food, a few classics come to mind: chicken soup with matzo balls, challah, maybe a babka if you’re feeling adventurous. But as food writer and nice Jewish boy Jake Cohen demonstrates in this stunning debut cookbook, Jewish food can be so much more.

In Jew-ish, he reinvents the food of his Ashkenazi heritage and draws inspiration from his husband’s Persian-Iraqi traditions to offer recipes that are modern, fresh, and enticing for a whole new generation of readers. Imagine the components of an everything bagel wrapped into a flaky galette latkes dyed vibrant yellow with saffron for a Persian spin on the potato pancake, best-ever hybrid desserts like Macaroon Brownies and Pumpkin Spice Babka! Jew-ish features elevated, yet approachable classics along with innovative creations.
