Project Spotlights

Signature Financial Planning

at 525 William Penn Place

The Signature Financial Planning Fit-Out on the 34th floor of 525 William Penn Place was an 8,000 SF office fit-out. The project included private offices, meeting and collaboration rooms, a reception area, a pantry, and office support spaces. It also included an open ceiling plan throughout along with a custom “S” shaped light fixtures in the lobby area. All conference rooms and offices have full glass fronts. The reception area has a wood slat wall that extends and connects to the wood slat ceiling. The kitchen has an intricate ceramic tile design.

LGA Partners at Four Gateway Center

After continuing to grow to over 70 employees, LGA Partners chose to move their offices from Uptown to the 15th floor of Four Gateway Center. The unique 20,000 SF space has a large library, multiple conference rooms ranging in size, video conference rooms, expansive open collaboration areas, a large kitchen and lounge area, and offices and work areas with beautiful views of the city. The project also included custom restroom renovations with intricate tile patterns and polished concrete floors throughout the suite. The space features exposed ceilings including multiple acoustic design elements, ceiling baffles and wall mounted sound dampening panels. The reception and main conference rooms have a custom, angled wood-look ceiling.

PNC Bank East Liberty

MBM completed construction of the new 3,100 SF PNC Bank branch in East Liberty. The new site combines three other local PNC branches into one. Because personnel and existing equipment were being relocated, there was no room for the schedule to extend, even for unexpected delays. Construction was completed on-time with no delays to PNC’s plans. The East Liberty branch, which employs 11, has ATMs at the entrance for 24-hour access, 6 private offices, 2 semi-private offices, a concierge station, teller area, restrooms and employee break room. The branch also features the new national marketing campaign that was just released in March 2024.

Happenings

West Penn Hospital Central Sterile Ground Breaking Ceremony

In coordination with the AHN CRES department and West Penn Hospital Administration, MBM was able to move the existing Central Sterile Processing services to several remote locations in the hospital. Once it was confirmed they were operating in the new locations, all associated team members met onsite at the old CSP location to celebrate the start of an aggressive 10-month construction project. MBM will take the project area down to the steel and concrete and rebuild a totally new department capable of handling all processing needs at West Penn Hospital. Top West Penn Hospital Administration, AHN CSP services, the MBM/DesignGroup team, and the AHN CRES department all showed up with the CSP staff and operating manager Kassondra Healy to show support and have a little fun by beginning the demo and smashing up some of the old walls. Project completion is scheduled for first quarter 2025.

What has your experience been like working with MBM on your office project?

Working with MBM was a great experience because they’re so communicative. With a big project like this and so many moving parts, having open communication and seeing everything behind the scenes was incredibly helpful. We had a vision for a really creative space, different than the typical financial services office, and the team really made it come to life.

What were the biggest challenges on this project?

There were a lot of moving parts and different teams involved, so coordinating everything was definitely a challenge. MBM really excels at predicting issues and solving them early which saved a lot of time and headaches, and their willingness to work directly with our other vendors took stress off my plate and made the project run smoothly.

What is your favorite part or area of your new office suite?

My personal office suite! I wanted a space that felt like me and I got it. It’s pink, creative, and even has shelves to display my shoe collection.

Has your new office impacted staff experience and overall productivity?

The new office brought a new energy into our team culture. In our last office, we didn’t have the space we needed to work together the way we wanted to. Now, we have rooms dedicated to collaboration and the technology to support it.

Tell us three things most people don’t know about you…

First, I really love video games. Mario Kart is one of my favorites, and I have a collection of gaming consoles from throughout the years. I still play on my N64 that I’ve had since it was released in the 90s. Second, I'm obsessed with beef jerky and always try to taste new brands. When I travel, instead of getting the souvenirs that everyone buys, I try to buy local jerkies to get a taste of that area or culture. Lastly, I’m a HUGE true crime junkie. I listen to all the podcasts (Case Files is my favorite) and even have gone to Crime Con almost every year since it started.

He loves to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, kayaking and going to their camp in Erie.

What aspect of being a Carpenter and Superintendent do you like the most?

My favorite aspect of being a carpenter is watching an empty building transform into the finished product.

What do you like about working at MBM?

MBM is a family-based company which makes relationships personable.

What was the biggest challenge on the PNC Bank East Liberty project?

I can’t say that there were any huge challenges at the PNC East Liberty project but we had a good team across the board with good communication.

Tell us three things most people don’t know about you…

I went to PIA to learn how to run heavy equipment, ice fishing is my favorite hobby, and I collect special edition beer cans.
