The COVID-19 Response Measures Act
Legislation to support new recovery benefits and extend funding for COVID-19 measures receives Royal Assent
On October 2nd, the COVID-19 Response Measures Act (formerly Bill C-4) received Royal Assent. This legislation creates three new temporary recovery benefits to support Canadians who are unable to work for reasons related to COVID-19. 
Backgrounder: The COVID-19 Response Measures Act
The Act creates three new temporary Canada Recovery Benefits to provide income support to Canadian workers while promoting economic recovery with measures that encourage people to return to work.

These include the:

  • Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB)
  • Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB)
  • Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB)

Ontario Releases Updated COVID-19 Modelling for Second Wave
Ontario has developed a comprehensive plan, Keeping Ontarians Safe: Preparing for Future Waves of COVID-19, to ensure the health care system is prepared for the immediate challenges of the fall including future surges and waves of COVID-19 and flu season.
