Worksman Cycles: The oldest Bicycle Manufacturer in the United States

Back in 1898, when Morris Worksman established Worksman Cycles, his belief was that a well-designed three-wheeled cycle could replace the horse and wagon by providing a less expensive and more reliable way to move people and products over urban terrain. As it turns out, his philosophy was correct.

Morris Worksman's first industrial tricycles were used in New York City by local businesses that performed deliveries. Little has changed in the 120 years since. With today's escalating fuel costs, the need for aerobic conditioning, and the desire to reduce fumes and lower costs, there has never been a better time to incorporate Worksman Heavy Duty Bicycles and Tricycles into your plans. Whether you are a facility manager at a Fortune 500 company that needs to haul cargo around a large factory, a small business that needs tricycles for local deliveries, or an individual needing a specialty cycle for personal use, Worksman is the right choice.

Have you completed the MBREDC

Existing Industry Survey?

The MBREDC asks all existing industries in Horry County to participate in the 2025-2026 Industry Survey. Your input helps us better understand your needs, track industry trends, and improve the support we provide to keep our local economy strong. By completing the survey, you’ll also stay connected to important updates on topics such as state and federal regulations and emergency preparedness. We appreciate your time and partnership as we work together to ensure the continued growth and success of Horry County’s industrial community.

The 2025- 2026 Industry Awareness Class Kick-off

The Industry Awareness Kick-off for Class #4 was held on August 27 at the Marina Inn with all new class members in attendance. Students had the opportunity to meet each other, learn about the MBREDC and its role in recruiting and supporting industry, and the expectations of the class. We are all excited to begin a new class with this new group of leaders!

August was a busy month at the MBREDC with two great events being held: "Leading with the Adventure Mindset" and "Brunch with the MBREDC Board of Directors." Both events had a maximum attendance and were enjoyed by everyone.

Thank you to MBREDC Members who helped to "Fill the Pantry" at Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach this month. 162.2 pounds of assorted foods and 22.2 pounds of Hygiene products were collected and donated.
