Pods Enterprises, a moving and storage company, released its fifth annual Moving Trends Report, showcasing the U.S. cities with the most move-ins and move-outs. It analyzed its internal long-distance moving numbers between January 2024 and March 2025 to figure out the top spots. The No. 1 destination is a tie between Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Wilmington, North Carolina.
"The Myrtle Beach, Wilmington area tops our list for a record-setting third year, suggesting more people may be embracing the idea of living where others vacation," the report noted. "Living in this southeastern coastal area checks off boxes like affordability, friendliness, and access to nature, though it’s not without risk during the Atlantic hurricane season."

Economic Impact and Future Growth
The increase in attendance and the added star power of this year’s event generated significant economic impact for the Myrtle Beach area. Local businesses saw increased revenue from hotel bookings, dining, and retail, while the tournament itself provided a substantial boost to the region's tourism and hospitality sectors.
The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic continues to grow in stature, and with such a successful year, it is poised to become a cornerstone event on the golf calendar for years to come. The partnership between ONEflight, Visit Myrtle Beach, and the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club has created a premier sporting event that brings together golf, celebrities, charity, and community. We are home to over one hundred industries that provide jobs to our local community members," said Sandy Davis, President & CEO of the MBREDC. "The PGA gave us a chance to showcase what our area has to offer businesses who are considering moving here. Myrtle Beach delivers the perfect balance of business opportunity and coastal living."

In June 2026, South Carolina will host the Southeast United States-Canadian Provinces (SEUS-CP) Alliance Annual Conference in Greenville, and S.C. Commerce is the lead organization planning the event.
Established in 2007, the SEUS-CP Alliance is a strategic trade and investment-focused partnership aimed at formally advancing economic ties between six Southeast U.S. states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) and six Canadian provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec).
Each year, Canada and U.S. member states alternate hosting delegations, led by provincial premiers, state governors, and business and industry leaders, for a business-to-business conference. South Carolina last hosted the event in Myrtle Beach in 2012. The state will also host a breakfast during the 2025 SEUS-CP Conference in New Brunswick, Canada, to promote next year’s meeting in Greenville.

Thank you for 75 years | Tidelands Health marks milestone serving the region
Tidelands Health kicks off a year-long observance of its 75th
anniversary of service to the region and helping people live better lives
through better health.
With gratitude to so many – patients, the community, team members, community partners, and more – the health system takes a moment to celebrate this milestone while charting the path to serve future generations.
What began on May 11, 1950, with the opening of a small community hospital in Georgetown has evolved into the region’s largest health system with four hospitals, more than 70 outpatient locations, and 2,500 team members.
Through tremendous growth, the not-for-profit health system has remained locally owned and operated and driven by dedication to serving its community – a core value that first took shape 75 years ago.
Throughout the year, stories and videos that capture the heart of Tidelands Health and the organization’s impact on the community will be shared via a dedicated 75th anniversary commemoration at tidelandshealth.org, as well as on Tidelands Health social media channels.
