A statewide spring primary election was held today for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.


Below are the currently projected winners of the key race:

  • Jill Underly: 37%
  • Brittany Kinser: 35%
  • Jeff Wright: 27%


Top Two Vote-Getters Move on to General Election in DPI Race

With 83% of precincts reporting, the top two vote-getters: Dr. Jill Underly and Brittany Kinser advanced to the general election in the primary race for who will become Wisconsin's next State Superintendent of Public Instruction.



  • Dr. Jill Underly: 37%
  • Brittany Kinser: 35%

In response to tonight's results, the top two candidates had the following reaction to their victory:



Dr. Jill Underly

“I think it shows that Wisconsinites love their public schools. They believe in the work that we've been doing."


Brittany Kinser

"From now until April 1, I will continue to travel the state and share my plan to bring a clean slate, a fresh start, and a fundamentally new approach to DPI." 

General Election

The General Election will be held on April 1, 2025.


Also on the ballot for the General Election will be the State Supreme Court race.
