From the Principal
Dear Middle Campus Parents,
What a wonderful and rich time of learning we have had these past two weeks at the Middle Campus.
Last week, our Grade 8s spent 3 days at Timberline Ranch; they rode horses, developed new friendships, and shared vulnerably together around the campfire about what God has been doing in their lives. This week, they have been learning about healthy relationships and the biblical principles that undergird them. Teachers and EAs pour an incredible amount of energy, prayer, and heart into coming alongside students in this area of their development. As a parent (and principal), I am so grateful for their intentionality and care as our children face a world full of mixed messages about relationships and sexuality.
All grades have learned more about discrimination thanks to a presentation by The Other People. In this presentation, they heard stories of how the panel members had experienced harmful stereotypes, prejudice, and racism. They challenged students to be “crazy, courageous, and creative” upstanders against hate.
On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, each grade attended a Breaking Down the Walls workshop where they dug deeper in their relationships with one another, listening to each other’s stories and engaging in high-energy activities that required cooperation.
In addition to the above-mentioned activities, students wrapped up a full term of learning that you will read more about in their report cards, published today by 3:00pm in your Parent Portal.
We are heading into Spring Break with grateful hearts (and tired minds and bodies!) for all that took place in Term 2. Thank you for entrusting your children to us. As we take a break and recharge, we wish you and your family the same. May Easter be a time when your family is reminded anew of the incredible gift of Jesus, his death and resurrection.
“He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:6a)
Happy Spring Break and Easter!
