April 2020
My dear friends and colleagues,

I wanted to reach out to all of you during this very challenging time. Know that we hold all of you in mind. Like all of you, we are attempting to balance our own self care, child care needs, and the care of our patients and families. We want to reassure you we are available during this time and want to share resources and events that may be useful to you and your patients.
A new Michigan Medicine weekly online video series, Thrive with Your Family , kicks off on April 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. It will be broadcast over the C. S. Mott Children's Hospital Facebook page and Michigan Medicine’s YouTube channel. The series will offer support to families during the coronavirus pandemic. Please share this resource with your patients and their families.

Because I approach this pandemic using my experience as a trauma therapist, I can share a few things with you now:

1.  "How you are is more important than what you do."
2.  “Don't let the perfect be the enemy of good enough."
3.  “We are all in this together."

In the end...Don't forget that small things matter and you don't have to be perfect to be helpful.

Warm wishes,

Sheila Marcus, M.D.
