SCHOOL-WIDE NEWS
Dear Mustang Families,

First, thank you to all our families and students that participated in Homecoming week. We rocked the school all week! It was much quieter than normal during spirit week, but it didn't stop us from having fun, taking lots of pictures, and showing our Mustang Pride.

Follow us this week on twitter @MustangsMill to see Mustang PRIDE House winners!

Additionally, I would like to say thank you very much for your encouraging words and support last week. I am excited to start a new chapter in my life, however, goodbyes are never easy for anyone.

I want you to know that I will continue to serve as your leader in excellence until the end of this month. We will serve our students and families with the same level of rigor, doing whatever it takes as a Mustang family, to ensure every need, every student, every day.

On Monday, November 30, Dr. Goodwin will begin to serve our students, staffulty, and families in the same way. He understands our commitment to student learning and will continue to lead a student-center learning organization.

Finally, tomorrow, Nov. 2 we will welcome back many of our friends from SBDL(school-based distant learning). We are so excited to welcome them back into the building. Our staffulty and students have done an amazing job during these new times and we soon hope to welcome all of our students back to campus.

As students return from SBDL we will teach, model and practice our safe and healthy protocols to ensure all students feel safe and are not fearful as they return to campus. Below are reminders that we will continue to practice each and every day at MCA.

Safe and healthy practices:
  • Hand-washing/sanitizing - students will continue to use hand sanitizer as they enter the building each morning and as they enter and exit their classrooms and bathrooms.
  • Sanitizing classrooms - classrooms will continue to be thoroughly cleaned each night using the updated cleaning procedures
  • Mindfulness under the mask - wearing our mask during arrival and dismissal, during all transitions in the hallways, and during classroom time when we are unable to social distance.
  • Hallway transitions - we will maintain our one-way hallway patterns
  • Seating charts - we will update our seating charts as our students return to campus to ensure we are accurate in our contact tracing should it be needed
  • Classroom/CAFE spacing - We will continue to space students in the classrooms and at lunch
  • 5th grade Patrols - the district has asked that we not begin using 5th grade Patrols until the start of 3rd quarter
  • Middle School PE - students will not dress out 2nd quarter. Dressing out for PE should begin 3rd quarter. Please continue to have students bring tennis shoes each day.
Our students have been very respectful and responsive to our practices and I know they will be positive role models to our students as they return.

Thank you again Mustang families for your constant support and commitment to our students and staffulty. Mustangs ARE "Individually unique - TOGETHER COMPLETE!

Much love and appreciation,
Mrs. Riedl

PTA NEWS
Hope all of our Mustang families had an awesome Halloween!

  • Please send in any Math-a-thon pledges this week, we would like to wrap up our fundraiser and see if we made our goal, to those who already have sent them in, we THANK YOU for your support!

I would like to take this moment to add a message from our President, Nery De Los Santos:

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your President or Vice President for the past 7 years. I want to let you all know that as of November 1st, I will not be serving as your PTA President. I have loved every single moment of working with the most loving, caring and amazing teachers & staff.

I also have met some of the most amazing, creative, caring and hardworking ladies while working all of our events, I am so grateful for them all! I can not emphasize enough how much I love all of our Mustang kiddos, how I will miss seeing those adorable smiles, but it is time to get a paying job 😉

I want to let you know that I will be staying on as your Communications Coordinator and want to introduce you to our New President, Mrs. Kim Sheets. I can’t be happier that she has accepted this role; she is such an awesome, fun and creative lady. She will bring new ways of doing things, since this year has been a challenging one. Also know that I will always be here for you all. My baby still has another year in this school, so I won’t be a stranger. I know it’s a lot of change at one time but I have full confidence that we are Mustang Strong and we will always continue to succeed and have a great time. THANK YOU ❤

Sincerely, Nery De Los Santos
