A Letter from New Principal, Dr. Ken Goodwin

Dear Mill Creek Academy Parents/Guardians,

I am honored to serve as the principal at Mill Creek Academy (MCA) and look forward to working with you and your children. Ms. Riedl and the staff at MCA have created an incredible learning environment and it is my goal to continue the tradition of academic excellence.

I want to tell you a little more about myself and my background. I am the father of 3 children and enjoy traveling with my family in our free time. I started my career as a middle school math and science teacher and have worked as a school-level and district-level administrator for almost 19 years. I also served as a national education consultant and as a peer reviewer for a publisher.

One of my most important responsibilities as an educator is to provide a safe and caring environment where students and families are closely connected with the school. In addition, our goal is to help children become lifelong learners where their future provides them countless opportunities.

I believe it is important to work closely with the school community to continue building an exceptional place for our students. It is my goal to ensure that all students reach their greatest potential in an environment that meets their individual needs. To accomplish this goal, I feel it must be a collaborative effort between the school, home, and overall school community. Communication is essential and I encourage parents to contact me or our administrative team with any questions or concerns. I may be reached at 904.547.3720 or kenneth.goodwin@stjohns.k12.fl.us.

It is a privilege to serve as the principal of MCA and I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,
Ken Goodwin, Ed.D.
Principal
