SCHOOL-WIDE NEWS
Dear Mustang Families,

This week we celebrate our Veterans and men and women of service. As we know 2020 has been unlike any other year in our history and so it goes, this year for the first time I would venture to say in the history of Mill Creek that we will not have a BIG celebration to honor our Veteran's and men and women of service.

Our students and staff will work together to remember our men and women of service in classroom activities and morning announcements this week. It is so important to me and our entire MCA community that we never forget what our service men and women have done for our country and our freedom.

In tribute to our Veteran's and service men and women, I put together a quick presentation of past Veteran's celebrations at MCA. Although it doesn't even capture the true essence of what this event means to our community, it will remind us of what we have to look forward too in the years to come!

Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women that have served and continue to serve our country. We love and honor you!

PTA NEWS
Please help me welcome our new PTA President, Mrs. Kim Sheets. I couldn't be more excited for her to continue the outstanding leadership of our PTA. Please see her welcome letter below.

Hi Mustang Families,

My name is Kim Sheets. I’ve taken over the role of Mill Creek Academy PTA President along with help from our PTA Secretary, Carol Tarnawa.
I have two children that have attended Mill Creek since Kindergarten and are currently in 4th and 6th grade.

Carol has two children in MCA, a 4th and 5th grader. Carol came to Mill Creek 3 years ago and jumped right in to the PTA. She brings with her many years of teaching and PTA positions. She is a huge asset to the PTA.

I have been on the Mill Creek Academy PTA board, committee chairs and volunteered behind the scenes over the last 7 years. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of our Board and Committee Members during this time. I am also excited to have new PTA volunteers to get to know this year. Each PTA volunteer has a very important role that keeps the PTA running. I am so very thankful for their time and dedication!

I am eager to get started on this new role and I know I have HUGE shoes to fill. This year has brought on so many challenges for all of us. We as a PTA are constantly brainstorming along with the MCA Admin Staff, to find ways that we can engage our families in events that will keep our children and the staff safe.

I invite and encourage all of our MCA families to become a member of our PTA and enjoy the wonderful discounts while supporting our school. You do not have to take an active role in the PTA when you become a member.

Please look for PTA News on the weekly Mustang Newsletter email, check out the PTA website or join our Facebook page to make sure you are aware of any new events and information.

Thank you,
Kim Sheets
