Public Awareness Weekend 2021
As the uncertainty of COVID still lurks around, we have decided to host a virtual Public Awareness Weekend for 2021. We will be pre-recording all of our segments throughout February and airing them on March 26 & 27 to ensure PAW goes on this year! If you know any nonprofits who would be interested in participating, please have them email Allison at [email protected] for more information. As we start scheduling the studio time, we will send out a request for volunteers.
COVID-19 Update
As the COVID-19 situation continues, we are open to film at MCA-TV! We welcome all producers to schedule shows and new producers to start programs. Please call or email to set up a time to come so we can ensure we do not have too many people in the studio at once.

All measures are being taken to practice social distancing between employees and volunteers in the studio. Specifically, it is recommended that you stay at least 6 feet away from others and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. There will be alcohol-based sanitizers available so everyone can wash their hands frequently. Also, the public will be required to wear a mask before being granted admittance to the building and during their time at the studio (with the exception being the talent). Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation. If you are sick, we ask that you stay home for the safety of everyone until you are better.

As always, you are welcome to reserve equipment from the studio to film as well. Just email us to reserve the equipment so we can ensure it is ready for you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work through this reopening process. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of everyone in the MCA-TV family and our community. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and keep you updated as changes occur.
Volunteer Spotlight
Pete Cepulis

Q. Give us a brief description of yourself.

I like pushing buttons and talking about football.

Q. How long have you been volunteering at MCA-TV?

Off and on since about 1986- moved out of the area for a while but Jim took me back when I moved back in about 92.

Q. What inspired you to take the production classes?

I never really took the production classes. I majored in telecommunications at Penn State so I knew how to use most of the equipment back then. I saw a Public Awareness Marathon and was convinced that this would be my stepping stone to bigger things.

Q. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at MCA-TV?

The people, without a doubt. Whether it was the "star", the MCA staff or the volunteers, have met some wonderful folks and made some great friends.

Q. What made you decide to get into Moon football commentating?

Once upon a time I was a radio DJ so people like my voice. And I love football. For years I did other jobs during broadcasts, graphics, directing, camera. When one of our regular commentators was unavailable once Jim suggested I fill in. I did fill in for a while and when the play by play became available regularly I swooped in.

Q. Do you have any other shows you'd like to work on in the future?

Right now I wish we could do anything. I miss PAW. I don't have availability during the day so it makes it kind of hard. I've enjoyed working on lots of different types of shows over the years and making the camera people laugh.
Film Festival 2021

The MCA-TV Film Festival returns in May, marking its 10th year for the competition. MCA-TV invites local filmmakers to test their creativity for a chance to win! Films will be judged on: originality, creativity, strength of plot, story structure, characters, cinematography, direction, entertainment value, dialogue (character interaction), and overall quality. All submissions will be broke down into feature length and short film categories. Last year, thanks to monetary donations from generous sponsors, MCA-TV awarded more than $3,500 in prizes.

Enter your original film before the May 14, 2021 deadline and watch the event live on MCA-TV on Saturday, May 29. Films will be judged by a panel of film experts from the Pittsburgh Area. You do not have to be a Moon Township resident to participate. For more information, visit MCA-TV.ORG.
Office Closures

MCA-TV offices will be closed on Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 in observance of Christmas. We will also be closed on Friday, January 1 in observance of New Years Day. We here at MCA wish you a Happy Holidays!

Do you have an idea for a new show? MCA-TV is always looking for new content!

Producing a show is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Pitch your show idea to Allison Ford
2. Schedule a production date
3. Watch your show on MCA-TV

The rules are pretty simple, any Moon resident can produce a show or non-residents can work with a community producer to sign off on their production and help gather volunteers!

What is a community producer, you ask?
A community producer is a Moon Township resident that has gone through our production course.

If you are not a community producer, we can help pair you up with one! We currently have about 15 active community producers ready to help you get your show on the road! The process is easy! Just contact Allison Ford at [email protected] with information about your idea and you are on your way!
