We still have a few time slots open if you know any nonprofits who would be interested in participating, please have them email Allison at [email protected] for more information. As we schedule studio time, we will send out a request for volunteers.

Volunteer Spotlight
Mark Morava

Q. Give us a brief description of yourself.

I am  a long time resident of Moon Township, and I have recently retired from the practice of law. Along with my family members and friends, I have had the opportunity to travel in the United States and abroad which led in part to the travel show, Travels with Bonnie and Pete, which I hosted on MCA-TV.  Other interests include skiing and anything associated with the beach. I also follow pro and college sports.

Q. How long have you been volunteering at MCA-TV?

I have been a volunteer at MCA-TV for around 15 years.

Q. What inspired you to join the MCA-TV Advisory Board and how long have  you been an acting member?

have been on the MCA-TV Advisory board for around 16 years. I initially saw it as an opportunity to help give  input and to highlight local volunteer organizations and local events.

Q. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at MCA-TV?

I enjoy working with the staff and volunteers and seeing the various shows develop from an initial idea through filming, editing and production. Since I started, the station has grown dramatically both in quality and variety of shows produced in large part to the dedication of the staff and volunteers.

Q. What made you decide to get involved in community television?

I saw it as opportunity for some of the unique and talented people living in the local area to share their insights and experiences with the community.

Q. Do you have any other shows you'd like to work on in the future?

I would like to see a show highlighting the many local people involved in the creative  arts. There are many talented people involved in music, theater and writing as well as other areas who could offer their unique experiences and insights.
COVID-19 Update

As we continue to navigate through these uncertain times, we are open to film at MCA-TV. We welcome all producers to schedule shows and new producers to start programs. Please call or email to set up a time to come so we can ensure we do not have too many people in the studio at once.

All measures are being taken to practice social distancing between employees and volunteers in the studio. Specifically, it is recommended that you stay at least 6 feet away from others and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. There will be alcohol-based sanitizers available so everyone can wash their hands frequently. Also, the public will be required to wear a mask before being granted admittance to the building and during their time at the studio (with the exception being the talent). Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation. If you are sick, we ask that you stay home for the safety of everyone until you are better.

As always, you are welcome to reserve equipment from the studio to film as well. Just email us to reserve the equipment so we can ensure it is ready for you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work through this reopening process. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of everyone in the MCA-TV family and our community. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and keep you updated as changes occur.

Brewer Airport Toyota Film Festival 2021

The Brewer Airport Toyota Film Festival returns in May, marking its 10th year for the competition. MCA-TV invites local filmmakers to test their creativity for a chance to win! Films will be judged on: originality, creativity, strength of plot, story structure, characters, cinematography, direction, entertainment value, dialogue (character interaction), and overall quality. All submissions will be broke down into feature length and short film categories. Thanks to monetary donations from generous sponsors, MCA-TV will award more than $2,400 in prizes.

Enter your original film before the May 14, 2021 deadline and watch the event live on MCA-TV on Saturday, May 29. Films will be judged by a panel of film experts from the Pittsburgh Area. You do not have to be a Moon Township resident to participate. For more information, visit MCA-TV.ORG.
