Dr. Schneiderman
It is with great sadness that we let you know Dr. Marc Schneiderman passed away at the end of December. He was a long time member of the MCA-TV family and we will all miss him greatly. Dr. Schneiderman hosted the award-winning show The Dr. is in for many years at the station.

Due to the pandemic, the viewing time and location are not known yet. As soon as we find out more information, we will let you know. We will miss Dr. Schneiderman around the MCA-TV studio.
Volunteer Spotlight
Rosanne Robinson

Q. Give us a brief description of yourself.

Being a child of the 60s, TV and radio always intrigued me! I always wanted to be the one to hold the mic and talk to  people. My work history is varied, but one of my favorite jobs was working at a radio station. I loved all of it, production, writing, on-air. I am now retired from working outside the home and volunteering at MCA is my fun thing to do.

Q. How long have you been volunteering at MCA-TV?

I believe I have been doing this 3 years now.

Q. What inspired you to take the production classes?

When I worked at RMU in the Academic Media Center, some of the students volunteered here.  I was intrigued to learn Moon Twp. Had a TV station. After I retired, I happened to learn that there was a training class to learn to run cameras. I signed up immediately.

Q. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at MCA-TV?

Being able to work as part of a crew to bring informative programming to the community. Whether it is running camera, directing, monitoring audio, or doing the time cards, I enjoy it all!

Q. What shows do you volunteer on at MCA-TV?

It varies.  Senior Workout, Yinz Brewing, Moon Landings, Ink Shrink, Estate Planning with Michele Conti, PAW Weekend, Fourth of July, Half Hour-Full Moon, MVFD Virtual Gun Bash Wow! I cannot believe that many shows! One of the great things about volunteering is learning about new topics and meeting the people that are part of the shows.

Q. Do you have any other shows you'd like to work on in the future?

It would be fun to do a home how-to show, basic around the home things. Minor repairs, cooking, and baking.
COVID-19 Update

As we continue to navigate through these uncertain times, we are open to film at MCA-TV. We welcome all producers to schedule shows and new producers to start programs. Please call or email to set up a time to come so we can ensure we do not have too many people in the studio at once.

All measures are being taken to practice social distancing between employees and volunteers in the studio. Specifically, it is recommended that you stay at least 6 feet away from others and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. There will be alcohol-based sanitizers available so everyone can wash their hands frequently. Also, the public will be required to wear a mask before being granted admittance to the building and during their time at the studio (with the exception being the talent). Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation. If you are sick, we ask that you stay home for the safety of everyone until you are better.

As always, you are welcome to reserve equipment from the studio to film as well. Just email us to reserve the equipment so we can ensure it is ready for you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work through this reopening process. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of everyone in the MCA-TV family and our community. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and keep you updated as changes occur.

Film Festival 2021

The MCA-TV Film Festival returns in May, marking its 10th year for the competition. MCA-TV invites local filmmakers to test their creativity for a chance to win! Films will be judged on: originality, creativity, strength of plot, story structure, characters, cinematography, direction, entertainment value, dialogue (character interaction), and overall quality. All submissions will be broke down into feature length and short film categories. Last year, thanks to monetary donations from generous sponsors, MCA-TV awarded more than $3,500 in prizes.

Enter your original film before the May 14, 2021 deadline and watch the event live on MCA-TV on Saturday, May 29. Films will be judged by a panel of film experts from the Pittsburgh Area. You do not have to be a Moon Township resident to participate. For more information, visit MCA-TV.ORG.
