We are Open
We welcome producers to start scheduling again to film in the station and check out our new control room! Volunteers are welcome to set up a time to come check out the new control room as well! Please call or email to set up a time to come so we can ensure we do not have too many people in the studio at once and so we can open the door for you.

All measures are being taken to practice social distancing between employees and volunteers in the studio. Specifically, it is recommended that you stay at least 6 feet away from others and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. There will be alcohol-based sanitizer available so everyone can wash their hands frequently. In addition, the public will be required to wear a mask before being granted admittance to the building and during their time at the studio (with the exception being the talent). Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition may enter the premise and are not required to provide documentation.

As always, you are welcome to reserve equipment from the studio to film as well. Just email us to reserve the equipment so we can ensure it is ready for you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work through this reopening process. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of everyone in the MCA-TV family and our community. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and keep you updated as changes occur.
Volunteer Spotlight
Tom Baker

Q. Give us a brief description of yourself.

Thanks for inviting me to be the Volunteer  Spotlight this month. I am in my 7th year as our County Councilman which means that I represent close to 100,00 0 residents within our County government. For the last 11 years I've served in two roles, currently as Chief Community Affairs Officer and previously as Vice President of Programs, with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.  My little brothers, Preston (28), Eric (21), EJ (17), and Eddie (14) from BBBS are four of my favorite people and I am very proud of them. My wife, Erin, and I have been married for almost 16 years and we have a 2 year old daughter, Lila June. Lila has spent both of her first two birthdays on TV at MCA-TV. Jim Kanfoush did a  wonderful three generation caricature of my mom, Lila, and I on January 23, 2019 and earlier this year on January 23 Living Style with Lisa was the sight of a creative and thoughtful 2nd Birthday party on TV!

Q. How long have you been hosting a show at MCA-TV?

We are in our fourth year filming our show on MCA-TV and it really has been so mu ch fun!  We have filmed 16 total episodes so far and have featured 50+ terrific guests

Q. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at MCA-TV?

It has been great to team up with our Community Producer, Mary Ceccerelli, and to meet all of the terrific volunteers at the station. I also love to give each of our guests a platform to share about the positive things that they are doing.

Q. Tell us about your show, Get Involved! Moon Township.

My first book, Get Involved! Making the Most of Your 20s and 30s was released in 2008 and I had a great time touring the country speaking with over 100,00 people. We started our non-profit organization, Get Involved!, Inc., a decade ago and it has been a terrific journey.  Get Involved!, Inc. provides leadership development programs and initiatives that engage, energize, educate, and empower students, young professionals, and lifelong learners to make a positive difference in their communities and to become civically engaged. We feel strongly that we achieve this goal in variety of ways, including through our show with MCA-TV.

Q. Where did you get the idea to produce Get Involved Moon Township?

We had hosted Get Involved! Pittsburgh for years on PCTV 21 in the city and I really enjoyed that experience. When I came and met the team at MCA-TV while sharing about BBBS during Public Awareness Weekend (PAW), I knew right away that we needed to bring our positive programming to the station.

Q. Do you have any other shows you'd like to create in the future?

Since we are only 16 episodes in, I can't wait to see what the future holds for our show. Mary and I have some fun ideas up our sleeves. I would encourage everyone to find a way to enjoy the content from or get involved with MCA-TV in some way!

Through The Years
Volunteers in the Community
We want to also recognize our longest standing volunteer, Linda Francis! Once a year her workout classes collect for the West Hills Food Pantry. This year was no different when they began their collection in February. Little did she know what an impact this year would make. After the Coronavirus hit in March, she  decided to continue it  online since she found out how  many people were now coming to the Pantry  due to the virus.

This act of kindness has helped the Pantry tremendously. To date, Linda has received and given the  Pantry over $2,345.00. In addition to this donation, Linda went to Facebook to set up a birthday donation for the Pantry and raised another $700!

We applaud Linda and her workout crew for giving back to the community in many ways! Thank you, Linda for making Moon Township and MCA-TV great and helping so many people along the way!

Produce a New Show Today!
Do you have an idea for a new show?  MCA-TV is always looking for new content!

Producing a show is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Pitch your show idea to Allison Ford
2. Schedule a production date
3. Watch your show on MCA-TV

The rules are pretty simple, any Moon resident can produce a show or non-residents can work with a community producer to sign off on their production and help gather volunteers!

What is a community producer, you ask?
A community producer is a Moon Township resident that has gone through our production course.

If you are not a community producer, we can help pair you up with one!  We currently have about 15 active community producers ready to help you get your show on the road!  The process is easy! Just contact Allison Ford at [email protected] with information about your idea and you are on your way!
