Public Awareness Weekend 2021
As the uncertainty of COVID still lurks around, we have decided to host a virtual Public Awareness Weekend for 2021. We will be pre-recording all of our segments throughout February and airing them on March 26 & 27 to ensure PAW goes on this year! If you know any nonprofits who would be interested in participating, please have them email Allison at Aeastham@moontwp.us for more information. As we start scheduling the studio time, we will send out a request for volunteers.
COVID-19 Update
As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, we are open to film! As we continue to film in the studio, we welcome all producers to start scheduling again and check out our new control room! Volunteers are welcome to set up a time to come check out the new control room as well! Please call or email to set up a time to come so we can ensure we do not have too many people in the studio at once.

All measures are being taken to practice social distancing between employees and volunteers in the studio. Specifically, it is recommended that you stay at least 6 feet away from others and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. There will be alcohol-based sanitizers available so everyone can wash their hands frequently. Also, the public will be required to wear a mask before being granted admittance to the building and during their time at the studio (with the exception being the talent). Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition may enter the premises and are not required to provide documentation. If you are sick, we ask that you stay home for the safety of everyone until you are better.

As always, you are welcome to reserve equipment from the studio to film as well. Just email us to reserve the equipment so we can ensure it is ready for you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work through this reopening process. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of everyone in the MCA-TV family and our community. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and keep you updated as changes occur.

Volunteer Spotlight
Rich Wyza

Q. Give us a brief description of yourself.

I served in the US Air Force for 4 years. During my four years, I had the pleasure of living in some of the most beautiful places both here and abroad. From the snowy mountains in Upstate New York to the Beaches in Destin Florida, and the Country of South Korea. This is where I met my wife of 27 years now. I enjoy Shows like Planet Earth that let me see wild animals in their natural habitat. These types of shows are inspirational by the way they are filmed over many years, and the work and dedication the cameraman goes through to get that perfect shot. In my free time, I do enjoy cooking, watching movies, flying my Drone, and attending live concerts.

Q. How long have you been volunteering at MCA-TV?

I have been volunteering now for 26 Years. For 9 Years I had lived in Moon Twp, but my work sent me to Mercer Pa so for the past 17 years I have been traveling from New Castle to help out.

Q. What inspired you to take the production classes?

When I started there was no production class available. I saw an article in the Moon Record that came in the mail looking for volunteers. I called the number and was told if you would like to help we are Filming a Moon football game Friday, come to the stadium and you can run a camera. The next season and for 24 years I walked the sideline with the Camera on my shoulder, and that is how the Wyza cam was born. I am glad the Production classes are going on now, I could have used one back then.

Q. What do you enjoy most about volunteering at MCA-TV?

I enjoy working with a very diverse group of people. The friends you make and the fun you have on a Friday Night. When you are with such great people and doing something you enjoy, well nothing else matters. Volunteering also leaves you with such great memories of the places and people you have gotten to film. Flying with the Army golden nights, filming such great musicians like Donnie Iris, Joe Grushecky, BE Taylor, the Granati Bro's, and of course when you get the Camera taken away from you by the Lead Singer of the Vogues and have to sing with him to a sold-out crowd at Robert Morris well. My Most Memorial place was when I stood on the Field at Beaver Stadium to film the games, and you hear that We Are well that makes it all worth the effort.

Q. What shows do you volunteer for at MCA-TV?

Currently, I am limited to Friday Night football and Public Awareness Weekend. I do look forward to doing more when I retire. I loved it when I helped with the Cooking Show with Rick, Daves World, The 911th Air Show, my favorite Moon Rocks, and so many more productions.

What is a community producer, you ask?
A community producer is a Moon Township resident that has gone through our production course.

If you are not a community producer, we can help pair you up with one! We currently have about 15 active community producers ready to help you get your show on the road! The process is easy! Just contact Allison Ford at aeastham@moontwp.us with information about your idea and you are on your way!
