Achieving Third Grade Reading Proficiency: Early Learning Interventions & Resources for Students, Parents & Providers
Tuesday, July 14, 10am – Noon

Help us celebrate GLR Week in Florida by learning, sharing and planning to support literacy efforts across Florida. Hear more about our most recent FGLRC products, services and partnership activities being launched or expanded this Fall! MCAN Members Liz Bahl and Debbi Arsenaux of The Learning Alliance will present along with five local GLR campaigns on the exciting new literacy supports they’ve been offering to assist young children learning from home.


Supporting Literacy Skills in the Early Grades
Wednesday, July 15,   1-2 pm

Join Dr. Paige Pullen of University of Florida Lastinger Center and Jenn Faber of Florida's Grade-Level Reading Campaign for a one-hour literacy presentation designed for out-of-school time providers working with Pre-K through 5th grade students. Learn more about DCF's five-hour 'Supporting Literacy in School-Age Programs' training module, and enjoy a sample lesson on how building vocabulary influences reading comprehension.


Early Learning is 'No Small Matter': Documentary Screening & Advocacy Panel Discussion
Thursday, July 16 3:30-4:30 pm

The Florida Grade-Level Reading Campaign will be hosting a virtual screening of the No Small Matter documentary, then facilitating a powerful discussion on the importance of advocating for early learning! Our panelists will include: Florida Representative Erin Grall; Ralph Smith, Managing Director -Campaign for Grade-Level Reading; Dr. Nicole Patton-Terry, FSU - Florida Center for Reading Research, and Dave Heaton, Florida Children's Council Board Chair and Executive Director of Martin County Children's Services Council. Registrants will receive a link on the evening of July 15th to view the No Small Matter 75-minute documentary prior to our Advocacy Panel Discussion on July 16th at 3:30pm (Eastern).

GLR Week is July 13 -17  and we’re excited to showcase numerous FGLRC products and services available to community partners supporting grade-level reading efforts across Florida! Now more than ever, children, providers and parents can benefit from our GLR language and literacy supports.
