Dear Member,
This year, the Monterey County Association of REALTORS® (“MCAR”) celebrates 100 years of service to its members!
In May of 1921, the Monterey Board of REALTORS® was formed with just a small handful of real estate agents. Those first few members laid the ground work for how organized real estate in Monterey County could be effective in collaboratively advocating for the success of the industry and their clients. Seventy-four years later, a merger took place that unified three separate real estate boards; Monterey, Carmel and Salinas, resulting in the creation of the Monterey County Association of REALTORS®. Going from a dozen members in 1921 to over 1350 today, MCAR remains committed to promoting professionalism, property rights and homeownership.
This year will bring many changes to organized real estate, both in terms of how we do business and how our business models are structured. Staying in front of those changes, as much as possible, will be paramount to our overall success.
Thank you for the continued support and willingness to adapt so quickly to the rapidly changing rules and real estate standards. We look forward to serving you this next year and welcome any feedback as we continue to explore new ways of providing the best possible experience for our valued MCAR members.
