In this month’s edition, we are celebrating Ms. Savannah Heath, our Small Business Center Director. Starting this month, she will embark on a new journey as the Director of Economic Development for Montgomery County. The silver lining is that Montgomery Community College has a new partner in the county. Based on her record of accomplishment at Montgomery Community College the positive trajectory of Montgomery County is only going to accelerate.
Savannah is a very modest person, so being the highlight of this month’s newsletter left her feeling very uncomfortable. However, it is important that we take a moment to highlight just a few of her accomplishments during her 5-year tenure at Montgomery Community College.
- Founded the first-ever Gunsmith Business Summit hosted by an SBC. Average attendance exceeding 200 attendees every year
- Founded the Workforce Development Center newsletter to raise awareness about SBC opportunities and college-wide opportunities
- Developed a county-wide Smart Restart Business Guide to help businesses reopen doors safely during the pandemic
- Founded Montgomery County's first Online Farm School
- Helped in the establishment of 21 new businesses
