We want to keep you updated about what is happening with the Governing Board, so we are sending you this summary. If you have questions, let us know.
On November 5th, the Governing Board meeting was opened in prayer by Rev. Elder Dwayne Johnson who asked us to name one thing that we were thankful for. For nations north of the equator, the past few months have been a time of harvest. Many nations celebrate a time of thanksgiving for the harvest; Canada, China, Germany, Grenada, Japan, Norfolk Island, South Korea, Liberia, Vietnam and the United States. We wish all these nations blessed celebrations. The Governing Board gives thanks for our churches around the world and their ongoing support of their communities and our denomination.
We also offered thanksgiving for our Transgender communities and raise our voices together to call for an end of persecution and violence against the Transgender community, particularly Transwomen of colour.
After the opening prayer, we moved into our consent agenda items. These are items which are on every agenda and we receive the reports prior to the meeting including the previous meeting minutes and the
We reviewed the financial reports (see below for a dashboard for this month) and requested that the Finance committee consider the possibility of bill payment and donations being handled electronically. This would be in addition to our currently accepted methods.
We spent time reviewing the staffing changes and had a motion of appreciation for the amazing work done by Linda Brenner, Kathy Cassoday, Jack Hutter, Jared Vázquez and Rev. Elder Mona West during their tenures as MCC staff. Additionally, work will continue on a Human Resources Manual.

We would like to have all questions in advance in order to be be as thoughtful as we can be in our responses. Additionally, it will give us the opportunity to have the responses translated. There will also be a time at the end of the webinar put aside for questions that arise during the webinar.
Clare Coughlin closed the meeting in prayer.
We continue to be filled with gratitude for our staff and the grace-filled way they are handling the transitions. We ask for your patience over the next while as a call for applications to fill the newly created and reworked positions goes out.
May our blessings surround you.
