Welcome to the WBENC Forum's corner! This serves as an opportunity for you to get to meet our forum representatives and hear more about their story. This month, we will hear from representative Nancy Wiser.
|
|
Hello, WBE and Corporate friends! As the founder and president of Wiser Strategies, a Public Relations & Marketing firm based in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, I am passionate about communicating well and helping others to do the same. Life is too short to face business problems caused by poor communication!
Wiser Strategies helps business leaders do and say the right things at the right times for the right people. We develop strategies focused on supporting corporate objectives – what clients want to accomplish – and then weaving together the communication approaches and tactics needed to achieve that. We create plans and execute them.
Since founding Wiser Strategies, I have worked with countless clients in the Bluegrass state and beyond. Our expertise focuses most in four industry areas:
· Business to Business and Professional Services
· Energy, Environmental and Infrastructure
· Government, Associations and Non-Profits
· Healthcare
As a woman business owner, I value being be part of WBEC to learn more about leadership and to share my experience. I have owned a business since 2000 but only became certified in 2013. Unfortunately, I was not very active for several years because I didn’t realize the value. Since becoming more active, I’ve had some amazing experiences, met accomplished women and corporate procurement professionals, and realized that this community really wants to help us thrive.
I am honored to serve on the WBENC Forum and am on the Domestic team. Some of my most notable benefits have been networking with successful, growing business owners and professionals who are dedicated to helping women business enterprises grow. I have also enjoyed the professional development programs, especially the motivational and inspirational programs WBEC-ORV has offered.
Since joining WBEC-ORV, I have also realized how important participation is within this council and beyond. Women business owners have so much to share that otherwise would not rise to the surface due to our day-to-day responsibilities. The bonds we develop through ORV give us new resources and resilience in our businesses, as well as in ourselves. That is why participation in their events is key to being successful in your membership.
WBEC has also led to my realization that Wiser Strategies offers unique services women need. One of Wiser Strategies’ areas of expertise is something many women say they lack – the ability to represent themselves and their companies with confidence in a professional, brand-consistent manner in media interviews, when public speaking, and many other situations.
It has been one of my goals since joining WBEC to change that belief many women have of themselves. To show them how to project that they are capable, strong, and resilient so their talent and their companies do not go unnoticed.
