Paycheck Protection Program
The Small Business Administration and the US Department of the Treasury have developed a Frequently Asked Questions document related to the Paycheck Protection Program – Section 1102 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.  The document will be updated on a regular basis.   Click here  to view the FAQ document.

The SBA has also developed a tool for businesses to locate local lenders participating in the Paycheck Protection Program.   Click here  to access the tool.
COVID-19 Housing Alternatives
NC has received approval from the federal government to provide housing alternatives, such as hotels, motels, and dormitories, for North Carolinians with unstable housing and who may need to quarantine in response to or are at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19.  This will be key for housing homeless populations especially in urban areas .   Click here  for additional information.
Executive Order 130
On April 8, Governor Cooper issued Executive Order 130 .  The order creates more flexibility in law enforcement training schedules during the COVID-19 state of emergency so that persons training for new positions can pause their training and resume at a later date.  Click here  for more information.
Childcare Assistance
The NC Department of Health and Human services is providing financial assistance to help essential workers afford childcare and bonuses to childcare professionals who provide care during the COVID-19 crisis.   Click here  for more information.
Hospital Capacity and the COVID-19 Epidemic in NC
An independent group of NC epidemiologists and data scientists have developed a brief that examines the probability of demand for hospital acute and intensive care unit beds in the state.   Click here  to view the brief.  Please note, contents of the brief were current as of April 4 .  Updates to the brief are planned.
New MCCOG Team Member
We are excited to welcome a new member to the Mid-Carolina Team.  Isabel Arnette, soon to be Isabel Fitzgibbons, is our new Health Promotions Coordinator .  Isabel will be graduating from UNC-Greensboro next month with a degree in Public Health Education.  Most recently, she interned with Harnett County Health Department’s Health Education Team .  You may reach Isabel via email at  iarnette@mccog.org .  Welcome Isabel!
Make Sure You Are Counted!
You can participate in the 2020 Census safely in your home online at  my2020census.gov , by phone or by paper form. Completing your Census makes sure a Census worker does not need to visit your home during the follow-up period and maintains social distancing.  
 
If you have not responded to the Census yet, it's not too late. Census data collection will continue into the summer, but you do not need to wait. Be counted now! It's quick, easy, safe, and i mportant for the future of all NC communities .  Visit the  NC Census Website  for more information.
NCDOT Grant Deadline Extended
The application deadline date for the NC Department of Transportation’s   2020 Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Grant Initiative  has been extended. The new deadline date is  5pm on Tuesday, June 30  (previously May 19).
