Prevent Debit Card Fraud

Tampering with a credit/debit card reader takes just a few minutes and can be done with an inexpensive device that’s easily available for purchase at online retailers.

There are lots of other ways your information can be skimmed, too.
Thankfully, there are steps you can take to prevent and recognize debit card fraud before it happens. Read on for all you need to know about debit card fraud.

Ways your card can be compromised

1. It’s physically lifted from your wallet.
2. A restaurant or bar server skims it while it’s in their possession.
3. A terminal you use is compromised.
4. An online breach puts your information on the black market.
5. Your computer has been hacked.

Invest in Yourself with an IRA at MCCU!

If you aren't saving money for your retirement, make 2019 your year to start investing in YOU! The sooner you start saving - and you don't have to have a lot of money to start - the more money you'll have when you're ready to retire. It may seem a long way off, but you'll be glad you started sooner than later.

At MCCU, we want to help you save for retirement. That's why we offer Traditional, Roth and SEP IRAs - plus, you can open a basic IRA Savings account, or earn more with a Share Certificate! The earlier you start saving for retirement, the better!

If you do have an IRA, remember you have until April 15, 2019 to make any 2018 contributions.

Invest in yourself this year, and let us help you!

MCCU employees with donated toys
Matadors Community Credit Union (MCCU) employees donated toys for kids age 4-18 for the holidays, in conjunction with the Child & Family Guidance Center (CFGC) in Northridge, CA. MCCU has been a long-time supporter of the CFGC.

CFGC provides comprehensive mental health services and outreach programs to 10,000 children and young adults each year that have significant emotional problems requiring comprehensive mental health interventions. A majority of the children are from low-income or underserved populations.

The goal of the toy drive is to provide each of the children that they work with, as well as any siblings in the family, with a gift for the holidays.
