Happy Cinco de Mayo! It is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.

Social Distancing and
Your Right to Vote By Mail

According to Glen Maxey, Primary Director for the Texas Democratic Party, if you believe that you will be social distancing in July you should consider requesting a ballot by mail so that you may vote by mail without having to go a the polling place to vote in the Primary Runoff Election.
The District Judge hearing the case has made a ruling with statewide effect that any person may vote by mail for reason of disability if they are social distancing at the time of the vote.  Disability is the voter’s determination if they cannot travel to polls. A doctor’s determination or governmental letter of disability is not required,
Call 936-539-7843 or go to election@mctx.org to request your Ballot By Mail.
