Every other week we'll meet up for breakfast to discuss a relevant topic in development. This week's topic will be cross-cultural communication.  As always, breakfast is covered through by Mortenson Center. AAAS "Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering" Workshop

Student competition to attend American Association for the Advancement of Science "Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering" workshop in  Washington, DC to learn about Congress, the federal budget process, and science communication. Students will also meet members of Congress or congressional staff.

BIG 5 Bootcamp

A 5-week (March 15 - April 12) social innovation bootcamp that brings together diverse people to design solutions for social and environmental problems. The 2017 focus will be water, food, housing, education and connectivity. A group of 30 participants will form multi-disciplinary teams mentored by specialists and entrepreneurs.

Conference Scholarships Available for Engineering Sustainability 2017

Engineering Sustainability 2017 has funding available for a limited number of students and junior faculty members (assistant professor level) who wish to attend the conference and have research interests and/or expertise in the broad topic of sustainable engineering.  Funding will be considered up to a maximum of $1,000 per applicant and can include travel, hotel, and registration fees.   Apply here

Engineering Excellence Fund Mini Grant Cycle
Spring EEF mini proposals are due February 15th. 

The Engineering Excellence Fund is announcing the Spring Mini Grant Cycle, which is now open for proposals up to $3,000. The EEF proposals are short, and can be proposed by students, faculty or staff who seek funding for high impact education innovation initiatives.

USAID/FPP Summer Internships Available

USAID's Office of Food for Peace (FFP) in the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA).  FFP is looking for interns to support its Geographic Division working as a Program Assistant or its Program Operations Division working as an IT Program Assistant in the Washington, DC headquarters location.  Depending on space availability, FFP may bring on one intern or more.  Interns can expect to have a substantive and rewarding experience as part of the DCHA/FFP team - once on board, interns are treated as full staff members. Intern for Marshall Direct Fund

Marshall Direct Fund (MDF) is seeking a part-time Program Intern. MDF is a nonprofit that was started in 2007 and provides access to primary and vocational education in Pakistan. Position will average approximately 10 hours per week and is unpaid, located at the Posner Center in Denver . The successful candidate is responsible for assisting with programs, marketing, admin, and development for the organization.
