Mortenson Center Welcomes New Program Assistant Sarah Goodroad

We are pleased to announce that Sarah Goodroad has joined the Mortenson Center as the new, part-time Program Assistant as of today.  Sarah has significant experience in financial and personnel management as well as program marketing and communication support.  She is a Colorado native and a part-time music teacher.  Sarah's office is ECOT 536 and she plans to work Monday through Thursday mornings.  Welcome Sarah!
EDC Seminar with Josh Kearns

Join Josh Kearns, a CU alumni and new Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University, as he discusses his previous experience working in Southeast Asia for over 10 years. He currently is working with communities in Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka and Mexico to develop low cost sorbents, such as biochar, to control toxic chemicals in water.

SPHERE Handbook Revision Workshop

The Sphere Handbook is one of the most widely known and internationally recognized sets of common principles and universal minimum standards in humanitarian response. This workshop, hosted by MCEDC, will provide a forum for humanitarian practitioners and academics to provide input for the 2018 revised Sphere Handbook and standards. Solar Decathlon 2017

The Solar Decathlon is coming back to Denver and is seeking volunteers to help. The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon is a collegiate competition of 10 contests that challenge student teams to design and build full-size, solar-powered houses. The winner of the competition is the team that best blends design excellence and smart energy production with innovation, market potential, and energy and water efficiency. EDC Conference Presentation  Travel Grants

The Mortenson Center now offers small travel grants to students who present EDC-relevant work at conferences. To apply, check out the links on the MCEDC Resources website. You'll also find links to department, college, and campus funding opportunities. Due to limited funding available, only students who are presenting EDC-relevant work can be funded by the Mortenson Center.
