Global Groundwater Crisis and the Consequences of Inaction

Groundwater depletion in the world's major aquifer systems poses a far greater threat to global food and water security than is currently acknowledged. Join J. S. Famiglietti of UC Irvine to discuss the most recent estimates of groundwater stress in the world's 37 major aquifers from 2002-2017,  and the consequences of conflict and displaced populations without detailed hydrogeological exploration and improved governance.
