Congratulations and Mission Accomplished! The Marines thank all 27,098 runners for participating in the 42nd MCM and MCM10K. Event results have been reviewed and finalized. All age award winners have been determined and will be notified about the December awards ceremony. A special thank you to all who volunteered. 
MCM Groundpounder Al Richmond of Arlington, VA, crossed the finish line completing his 42nd consecutive MCM in 6:48:35. Chris Koch, born without limbs, used a long board to finish the MCM in 5:01:16. Actor and U.S. Marine J.W. Cortes completed the MCM10K in 49:07. 


Finisher Certificate
The MCM debuts a new feature allowing for personalization of finisher certificates . Runners may select up to four of 11 badges to represent an individual runner's experience. D ownload and print official MCM and MCM10K finisher certificates. These keepsakes feature finish and half marathon times, plus gender and overall places. 
Desto Beriso Morkama, 32, of Arlington, VA, finished in 2:25:14 topping all MCM finishers. Women marathoners were led by Sarah Bishop, 35, of Fairfax, VA, who finished in 2:45:07. Freddie De Los Santos, 48, of New York, set a new course record among hand cyclists with a time of 1:10:29, beating the previous record that was set in 2014 by one minute. 
First-place MCM10K male finisher, Denzel Ramirez, 34, of Arlington, VA, turned in the second- fastest time in the event’s history at 32:17. Local runner Bethany Sachtleben, 25, of Alexandria, VA set a new female course record with a blazing time of 34:07 . More than 7,000 runners participated in the MCM10K.

Save the date for the 43 rd MCM on October 28, 2018. Registration for the 43 rd MCM will open in March 2018 for Runners Club, Active Duty and Lottery.  

After completing five or more MCMs (over any span of years), runners are eligible for membership in the  MCM Runners Club . Apply free of charge starting on January 17. Applications must be received before the end of February to be eligible for access to guaranteed registration for the 43rd MCM.

MCM, in partnership with Arlington County, collected 7.59 tons of recyclables. With support from MCM sponsors Fyffes and the National Watermelon Promotion Board , the MCM will be composting 1.04 tons of banana peels and watermelon rinds. Thanks to all the runners, volunteers and Marines for supporting these efforts.

Marine Corps 17.75K
By participating in, and completing, the  Marine Corps 17.75K  on March 24, 2018, runners will earn an Access Granted guaranteed entry for the 2018 MCM. Grab one of the highly sought after 17.75K spots when registration opens on Feb. 21.
Historic Half 2018
Registration is opens January 18 for the  Marine Corps Historic Half, the five-mile  Semper 5ive  and the Devil Dog Double to be held on May 20 in Fredericksburg, VA. Featuring an expanded field in 2018, the Devil Dog Double challenges runners to complete the 5ive miler in a ten minute-per-mile pace before turning around and running the Historic Half. Receive all three finisher medals for completing the 18.1-mile Devil Dog Double.
