Al Richmond of Arlington, VA, now the final Groundpounder, crossed the finish line completing his 41st consecutive MCM. Will Brown was unable to complete the event after 40 uninterrupted finishes.

Previous MCM champion, U.S. Army Spc. Samuel Kosgei won his second MCM (2:23:53). He also topped all finishers in the 2014 MCM. Women marathoners were led by Perry Shoemaker of Vienna, VA (2:51:48).    


The MCM10K presented by Aetna hosted 5,068 finishers. Geophery Mills (38:01) led the males and Allison Parks was first among female participants (41:59). Results are now official.

Make the 42nd Marine Corps Marathon and the other MCM-organized events part of the plan for 2017.

After completing five or more MCMs (over any span of years), runners are eligible for membership in the MCM Runners Club. Apply starting in December. Applications received after February will not be eligible for 42nd MCM registration.

Target date: Oct. 22, 2017. The 2017 MCM opens lottery registration from March 22-29. Limited Active Duty registration spots will open beginning March 2. Runners Club and 2016 Deferred Runners may register starting March 14. 

By participating in, and completing, the Marine Corps 17.75K on March 25, runners will earn a guaranteed entry in the 42nd MCM. Grab one of the highly sought after 17.75K spots when registration opens on Feb. 17.


Registration is now open for the Marine Corps Historic Half on May 21 in Fredericksburg, and the five-mile Semper 5ive . New this year: do both events and run the Devil Dog Double--one day, two distances, three medals and double the trips up Hospital Hill.
