PRINCIPAL PIC OF THE WEEK
|
|
We had a great Instructional Conference to kick off the new year! Presenters had the opportunity to share their experiences, best practices, and effective strategies that promote student engagement and foster academic success. Presenters and attendees alike benefitted from the time spent together, but the greatest benefit will be for the students as our staff continues to better themselves.

MCMS Student Book Review
Kennedy Moon recommends
The Inheritance Games
(a trilogy)
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Kennedy Moon, a 7th grader, recommends this book to her friends because it “has so many plot twists and mysteries with answers you could never guess but yet you will always try.” The first book of the trilogy, The Inheritance Games, is the story of a teenage girl named Avery who inherits a huge sum of money which makes her a multi-billionaire. But, there is a catch - she must have no connection to the family or the man who wrote about her in his will. And while the whole family is against her, his four grandsons (Jameson, Grayson, Xander, and Nash) are the only ones who want the truth, even if that means losing the life they've always known.
Kennedy gives this book a 5 out of 5!

This includes Interest Profiles, Career Aptitudes, and an introduction to Career Clusters and future career opportunities. During the months of December and January, the counselors will be scheduling time for students who were absent or were unable to finish to complete these assessments in a small group or individually.
