by Andrew Clements
7th grader, Maggie Crumbley, recommends this realistic fictional novel to her peers "for many reasons!" Overall, she believes this book is entertaining. MCMS Teacher Book Review
Hannah Grossman
recommends
Mean Streak
by Sandra Brown
Coach Grossman recommends this mystery novel because she could not put it down! She describes it as "a thriller with some romance added." The plot involves a woman who had an argument with her husband & decided to go for a run then was attacked & woke up in someone’s house. There was suspense because it wasn't clear if he was helping her or was an enemy. She says, "It is full of twists & turns throughout the entire book all the way to the last page. If you are looking for a mystery, thriller, suspense, and romance this is it!"
Coach Grossman gives this book a 5 out of 5!

New 2023-2024 Bell Schedule for Monroe County Middle School
April 13, 2023 - Beginning in August 2023, Monroe County Middle School students will have new arrival and dismissal times. Classes at the middle school will begin at 8 a.m. Dismissal will take place at 3 p.m. This change will help alleviate bus traffic congestion and allow more space for future growth.
Transportation Director Jake Davis says, “We have run out of space to safely add additional buses to our loading areas at Monroe County Middle School and Mary Persons High School. As we continue to anticipate the need for growth, we have to address that now.”
Aligning the times at MPHS and MCMS will also allow Monroe County Schools to station buses simultaneously at both schools, allowing them to begin their routes sooner, while also accommodating the large number of student athletes needed to transfer from one campus to the other.
More information about the change will be released as we get closer to the start of the school year.
