Catholic Layman's Club Donates
Last week we were honored to receive a visit from this great group of men. MCO Executive Director Anni treated these guys to a tour of our interesting pantry and described how we provide groceries for about 150 families with food insecurity each week. They learned about the bags of easy open food and supplies we provide for our neighbors living outside, and the weekly food we send home with students in our Catholic schools who need weekend supplies.
Bill, John, Joseph, Denny, Al, Stephen, Randy, Joe, and Bob (not all were present for the photo) presented a generous check to Metro Catholic Outreach for $2,000!

Remember Our Garden Produce Drop-Off Time
Every Monday from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, we will have volunteers waiting at our dock to receive any of your garden bounty you would like to bring us. Getting it all fresh on Mondays allows us to sort and package your nutritious home-grown goodies for distribution to our neighbors in need on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
No need to call first if you are coming, just show up between 1:00 and 2:00. Please keep our Monday afternoon volunteers busy!

* Thursday Rain Delay
The deluge of rain and wind in Thursday's thunderstorms forced us to cancel our last distribution of the week, affecting about 50 families. Nearly 20 Thursday volunteers were also told to stay home and stay safe from the volatile weather moving across our area.

Ways to HELP
- We still need volunteers for about two hours each Tuesday & Friday (one or the other is an option)
- Help deliver produce to our pantry late morning on Tuesdays
- If you have a truck/trailer, help deliver compost, straw, etc. to Prairiewoods -- even once or twice during the season is a big help
- Mow our grassy paths (takes about an hour) -- contact Christine for days/times
- Save garden/yard items from home that we can use, such as garden tools, empty buckets, gently used work gloves, wheelbarrows, carts, or wagons
- Ask your family, friends, & acquaintances if they’d like to volunteer or donate garden supplies
- Bring out a group for a garden service session
