MCPR members joined the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) in Washington, D.C. for the annual Legislative Fly-in and Congressional visits Feb. 24-25. The ARA team did a fantastic job of preparing individuals from across the country to make visits with over 130 visits to Congressional offices. The Minnesota delegation met in-person with Rep. Fischbach, Rep. Finstad, and Rep. Craig, Ranking Member of the House Ag Committee. The group also met with key Congressional staff from offices of Sen. Klobuchar, Ranking Member of the Senate Ag Committee, and Sen. Smith, as well as the offices of Rep. Emmer, Rep. Stauber and Rep McCollum.

Our meetings were very productive with discussion on the importance of passing the Farm Bill, the potential impacts of tariffs on the agriculture sector, tax policy, transportation and the economic impact of ag retail and the broader ag sector in Minnesota.
