MCPS VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

On Friday, Nov. 10, we honored those who served in our annual Veterans Day Ceremony!

Held at Marion County Veterans Park (2601 E. Fort King St., Ocala, 34470) at 11 a.m., the event was open to the community.

Several schools and community partners participated in this event as we educate students while recognizing veterans through musical performances, speeches, and military ceremonial mannerisms.

The full video of the ceremony can be found below.

CELEBRITY CHEF VISIT

On Friday, Nov. 3, several of our school's culinary art programs welcomed celebrity chefs to their classrooms as guest lecturers.

The four chefs, Lorena Garcia, Timothy Hollingsworth, Rashad Jones, and Yohann Le Bescond, were in town for the local food festival held at the World Equestrian Center - Ocala (WEC).

Once again, WEC partnered with the Public Education Foundation of Marion County (PEFMC) to raise funds for MCPS culinary programs through the festival.

Thank you to both WEC and PEFMC for bringing these chefs to our students and schools!

EIGHTH ANNUAL YOUTH CAREER FAIR

Thanks to a combined effort from our Career and Technical Education team and our amazing partnership with Careersource Citrus Levy Marion, the Eighth Annual Youth Career Fair was held on November 15.

Our middle school students were given the opportunity to explore careers and network with local business partners as well as representatives from secondary/post-secondary educational programs.

This expo coincides with our mission to help students find their "E," Employment, Enrollment, Enlistment, and Entrepreneurship.

The MCPS Volunteer Program is a district-wide effort to encourage and promote community involvement.

As partners in helping children learn, your sacrifice in our classrooms is invaluable and highly beneficial. By sharing your time and talent, you help enrich the learning experience for students and provide much-needed support for our school system.

Every school in the county needs volunteers. School volunteers come from every walk of life and work with students of all ages. Each school in the county has different needs, but the need that exists across the county is community involvement and support.
